Account Deletion & Data Retention

This page explains how account deletion and data retention work for the Sparkfolios app and platform, in line with our Privacy Policy.
How to delete your account
Standard users
Standard users may delete their accounts immediately by following these steps:
- Sign in to Sparkfolios.
- Open your Profile.
- Select Delete Account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the deletion.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Users receiving benefits through their employer
If you receive benefits from Sparkfolios as part of your employment:
- Contact your employer’s HR department or programme administrator and request account deletion.
- Your employer will verify the request and confirm it with Sparkfolios.
- Once the request has been verified, Sparkfolios will process the deletion in accordance with applicable legal and contractual requirements.
What data is deleted
When an account is deleted, Sparkfolios deletes or removes the following information from its active systems, subject to applicable retention requirements:
- Login credentials and authentication records
- Email addresses and contact details
- Profile information that directly identifies the user
- Other personal identifiers not required for auditing, compliance, or legal purposes
What data may be retained
Sparkfolios may retain certain records:
- In irreversibly anonymised form for reporting, auditing, fraud prevention, programme integrity, and dispute resolution
- Where required by law, regulation, or contract, including certain financial, transactional, audit, and compliance records
Irreversibly anonymised data cannot be linked to an identifiable individual and no longer constitutes personal information.
Retention periods
Personally identifiable data is deleted following account deletion or a verified employer-approved request, subject to applicable legal or contractual retention requirements.
Anonymised records and information that Sparkfolios is required to retain may be kept for as long as necessary to meet audit, compliance, dispute-resolution, or regulatory obligations.

If you believe your personal information is inaccurate or have questions about how it is handled:
- Standard users may update their details on the app, or contact Sparkfolios directly.
- Users who receive benefits through their employer may contact their employer’s HR department or programme administrator.
